Celine Dion Lost Weight AND Fans Are Worried

The world-class singer, Celine Dion, shares about her weight loss after receiving criticism and rumors due to her dramatic weight loss.

Her fans were legitimately worried after seeing her back again in the spotlight with a thinner look during the Paris Fashion Week.

Let us see how the singer-turned-fashion icon lost a significant amount of weight or is it because of her rumored eating disorder?

How And Why Did Celine Dion Lose Weight?

Superstar Celine Dion, 51, gained attention from the public after appearing to be a whole lot thinner, especially during the Alexandre Vauthier's fashion show. But she assured her fans that she is completely healthy and her love for ballet, aside from doing stretching and workout, made her lose a significant amount of weight.

After her husband, René Angélil, died in 2016 due to throat cancer, the renowned singer discovered her love for ballet and decided to start practicing it and experienced it like a dream, sensual, romantic, and dramatic.  

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Canadian singer revealed, "I do ballet. I do a lot of stretching and I work out because it helps my mind, body, and soul. When you go back, when I was 12 years old, my face was rounder because you have more fat when you're younger…But I've always been very thin." She added. "I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine, and sexy...If I like it, I don't want to talk about it"

She also shut down the anorexia speculations and recent weight loss rumors when she had an interview with "Good Morning America" and said she does ballet dancing four times a week while working hard to achieve its basic skills in dancing.

Pepe Muñoz, her stylist, close friend, and backup dancer, influenced and helped Celine Dion get into her new hobby. As you can see in her previous performances, she has always been a good dancer, too, that’s why ballet gave her so much interest and it’s like a dream come true for her. “I do this four times a week,” the L’Oreal Paris spokeswoman continued. “People say, ‘She’s a lot thinner’ but I’m working hard. I like to move and weight loss comes with it.”

In her social media post especially on Instagram, she showed her newly developed ballet skills on full display. The 51-year-old singer does amazing in a full split, ballerina style stretching, and arm raising in her ballet practice. 

She has always been in a slim frame even before we see her in her early years of being a talented artist. But fans left a negative remark about her weight loss saying that she’s “too thin” or “so gaunt”, and worse, “she’s suffering from an eating disorder”. And that could be too negative for Celine Dion to receive all the harsh words for her body shape.

 The Because You Loved Me hitmaker has been looking noticeably slimmer following the passing of her loved husband René Angélil in 2016.

However the exact amount of weight she has lost over recent years has never been confirmed.

How To Lose Weight In Ballet Dancing Celine Dion Style

A lot of people have the impression that ballet is just for kids, or for dancing and fun. But in reality, it also goes for losing bodyweight. Let us see how to lose weight while doing ballet dancing.

Start as a beginner.

If you are not an expert in this exercise yet, it is better to start doing it in a beginner's class so that you can know how to do a proper posture, gracefulness, and basic steps. Do not allow yourself to be overwhelmed physically and emotionally. Ballet should be done progressively, little by little until your confidence will increase along with your satisfaction and motivation.

Be consistent.

Just like any other diet and exercise programs, consistency in doing ballet is also needed to lose weight. Experts suggest that if you are a beginner, start doing it each day or multiples times a week for an hour until you get used to it and enjoy it. 

Be determined.

Ballet can be hard since it requires physical fitness movements and it may challenge your determination in doing it. But, take note that ballet exercises can also teach you gracefulness in your movement and love for music. A few of the things that ballet exercises will require from you is to develop your mastery in balance, flexibility, endurance, coordination, agility, strength, and toning. All these will greatly benefit your muscles and even your mind.

Move freely

When doing ballet, never hesitate to move your body with all your abilities as if no one is watching. Try to reconnect with your body and let go of all the anxieties that you have. Ballet is one of the great de-stressing moments from your anxious body and mind. Turn on your favorite dance music and start moving like a real ballerina whose moves are so light, graceful, and beautiful. Also, allowing your body to reconnect with yourself can bring you self-awareness which helps you in knowing abilities that you have never discovered before. 

Develop your core

Ballet exercise will help you do movements that will focus on your core strength and posture. If you want to achieve a flat stomach, this could be your opportunity to do it! Core strengthening will have to do with more strength and ability that will eventually tone your midsection when doing all the mentioned exercises needed for ballet. But remember, you are not just toning your core in ballet but also your back, feet, arms, butt, abs, and legs.

Develop good habits

A ballet exercise for weight loss won’t surely be enough. To successfully lose weight, you must develop a habit of good exercise plus a healthy diet. We are not saying that you must follow a strict program. All you have to do is to be kind to yourself and give your body proper health and be patient if there’s no significant change for a couple of days or weeks; it is progress not magic.

Enjoy your exercise

We ultimately know that you cannot give your 100% all the time for ballet. It is a fact that there will be times where you feel unmotivated, tired, and unsatisfied. But remember that whatever is worth it will always have to be worked out. A ballerina is gentle, patient, and kind not just to other people but to herself as well. So, whenever the time gets tough, just rest but never give up. Enjoy the process of learning and developing, and you’ll soon find the satisfaction of it.
